Wedding inspiration: City glam - Dream Day Style Challenge

Lover.ly, a search engine for finding wedding inspiration, challenged The Fashion Journalist blog to style a chic wedding dress. We love everything bridal, so we accepted the "Dream Day Style Challenge"! I had to choose a location between three picture settings –a traditional wedding, beachside nuptials or a rustic soirée- and as you can see above I went with the first option. Then, I had to select the dress and the accessories for the special day from their shop section and here it is the result!

Lover.ly, un buscador para encontrar inspiración nupcial, retó a The Fashion Journalist a escoger el vestido de novia ideal y sus complementos. Nos encanta todo aquello relacionado con las bodas, así que ¡aceptamos el "Dream Day Style Challenge"! Primero de todo, tuve que decidir una localización de entre tres fotografías que me mandaron –una boda tradicional, nupcias al lado del mar o una velada rústica. Como podéis ver en el collage, opté por la primera opción. Después, tuve que elegir el traje y los accesorios para ese día tan especial de la tienda de su página web y ¡aquí tenéis el resultado!

I think every girl dreams of having a magical and beautiful wedding. Everyone wants a perfect wedding and to achieve that the location is very important. My picture-perfect venue is a traditional wedding in the city and my dream dress is an elegant and ultra-feminine gorgeous gown with sheer sleeves, a deep V-neck bodice and lace, which is a must for me.

Toda chica sueña con una boda mágica y preciosa. Todas queremos la boda perfecta y para tenerla, la localización adecuada dónde celebrarla es de máxima importancia. Mi lugar ideal sería un casamiento tradicional en la ciudad y el vestido de mis sueños sería un elegante traje ultrafemenino con mangas con transparencias, un cuello en V y encaje, un must para mí.

The perfect complements to the wedding gown would be elegant lace bridal shoes trimmed in white satin and a dainty bow. Another thing: jewelry is also the key to feel like a princess. I selected white gold earrings, a necklace in silver and a stunning engagement ring. Let's not forget it's true that diamonds are that girls best friends. I did not choose a bracelet, because the long sleeves of the dress would hide it. 

Los complementos perfectos para el traje de novia serían unos zapatos de tacón blancos en encaje y satén y con un lazo refinado en la punta. Otro aspecto importante: las joyas son clave para sentirse cual princesa. He escogido unos pendientes de oro blanco, un collar de plata y un deslumbrante anillo de compromiso. No olvidemos que los diamantes son los mejores amigos de las mujeres. No he optado por ningún brazalete, porque las mangas largas del vestido los esconderían.

Sexy lingerie, a beautiful headpiece, a soft romantic veil, an elegant, fresh and chic fragrance and neutral nail polish... would also be part of my choice, although they not appear on the collage above.

Lencería sexy, un bonito accesorio para el pelo, un velo romántico y suave, una fragancia elegante, fresca y chic y una manicura de tonos neutros... también formarían parte de mi elección, aunque no salgan en el collage.

Why not a beach or rustic theme wedding

Get married by the sea has to be really really gorgeous, but I think of the annoying and dirty sand, the wind that can bring you the sand everywhere and can mess your perfect hairstyle up, the unpredictable weather, the tides, seagulls... and then my idea of a beach wedding vanishes. What's more, another important issue: during summer, what about the guests sitting in the sun? They should all wear sunscreen at least. And in winter, the sea breeze can become really unpleasant. 

Por qué no una boda playera o rústica

Casarse al lado del mar tiene que ser muy bonito, pero pienso en la arena molesta y sucia, el viento que hace volar la arena por todas partes y puede destrozar tu peinado, el tiempo impredecible, las mareas, las gaviotas... y después, esa idea de una boda idílica en la playa se va por completo de mi mente. Además, otra cuestión no menos importante: en verano, ¿qué hay de los invitados sentados a pleno sol? Deberían al menos llevar todos protección solar. Y en invierno, la brisa del mar puede helar a todos.

A rustic wedding can also be beautiful. DIY décor is lovely and you can take really wonderful pictures. But what about insects? Maybe one of your guests is afraid of them and, just in case, everyone should wear insect repellant. Weather can be an issue too.

Una boda rústica también puede ser preciosa. La decoración DIY es puro amor y se pueden conseguir fotografías preciosas. ¿Pero qué hay de los insectos? Tal vez haya algún invitado que les tenga fobia y, por lo menos todos deberían llevar repelente de mosquitos. El tiempo también puede ser un factor a tener en cuenta.

By the way, who knows, maybe when the special day arrives I change my mind. But right now I have a pretty clear idea. Echoing Audrey Hepburn: "If I get married. I want to be very married."
