Top model Irina Shayk will walk the 080 Barcelona fashion catwalk and she will do it exclusively for Desigual. The Russian model presented today an advance of the collection WHY? autumn/winter 2014-15, that the Spanish brand will show at the new edition of the Catalan catwalk, 080 Barcelona fashion. The fashion show will take place tomorrow Tuesday January 28th, at 9 pm.

La top model Irina Shayk desfilará para la pasarela 080 y lo hará en exclusiva para Desigual. La modelo rusa ha presentado hoy un adelanto de la colección WHY? otoño/invierno 2014-15 con la que Desigual desfilará en la nueva edición de la 080 Barcelona Fashion. El desfile tendrá lugar mañana martes, 28 de enero, a las 21 h.

Trainers in Haute Couture?

At the beginning of this week during the celebration of the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Chanel and Dior included trainers on their fashion shows. The need of a renovation of the first division of fashion and of making it closer to us led both designer labels to surprise us and disconcert everyone. Tennis shoes in Haute Couture? Strange as it made sound, it makes sense.

¿ZAPATILLAS EN LA ALTA COSTURA? A principios de semana durante la celebración de la Semana de la Alta Costura en París Chanel y Dior incluyeron zapatillas deportivas en sus desfiles. La necesidad de renovación de la primera división de la moda y de hacerla más cercana ha llevado a ambas firmas a sorprender y desconcertar a todos. ¿Zapatillas de jugar al tenis en la Alta Costura? Por extraño que nos parezca, tiene mucho sentido.

Conocimos a la perfecta femme fatale con sus bustiers, faldas lápiz de seda, vestidos de satén, verdes, rojos y azules... Elegancia, feminidad, romance y sensualidad. ¡Nos encantaron todos los looks!

This time, the Maestro was inspired by the sports world and surprised us with fanny packs, knee and elbow protective pads and trainers paired with Haute Couture dresses. Would you wear sneakers with your dress? Dior and Chanel are for it. 

Karl Lagerfeld ha vuelto a maravillar a todos (o a casi todos). Esta vez, el kaiser se ha inspirado en el mundo del deporte y nos ha sorprendido con riñoneras, rodilleras, coderas y zapatillas deportivas a juego con vestidos de Alta Costura. ¿Llevaríais una sneakers con vuestro vestido? Dior y Chanel sí.

Yesterday afternoon we could see in Paris, once again, the greatness of Giambattista Valli's creations. Flowers did not lack in a collection that again reveals the designer's passion for gardens. Short dresses festooned with petals appliqué as well as sequins stood out on the catwalk.

Ayer por la tarde pudimos ver en París, una vez más, la grandeza de las creaciones de Giambattista Valli. Las flores no faltaron en una colección que pone de relieve de nuevo la pasión que siente el diseñador por los jardines. Vestidos cortos adornados con aplicaciones florales de todo tipo y también lentejuelas destacaron sobre la pasarela.

This afternoon in Paris, Raf Simons presented, in his second year at Dior as the creative director, the Christian Dior spring/summer 2014 collection. Femininity, softness, youth, light, dresses with holes and trainers -yes, believe it, trainers- on the catwalk. 

Raf Simons ha presentado esta tarde en París la colección primavera/verano 2014 de Christian Dior en el que es su segundo año como director creativo en Dior. Delicadeza, feminidad, juvenil, luz, vestidos con agujeros y zapatillas -sí, créelo, zapatillas- sobre la pasarela.

Schiaparelli Spring/Summer 2014, Paris

Schiaparelli's return is a reality. Original, romantic, and, as it could not be in any other way, with a surrealist touch, the maison's fashion show was one of the most expected in Paris. The reason is that it is the first time that Schiaparelli offers a collection in Paris by new creative director, Marco Zanini, after his departure of the French house Rochas. The label has not been part of the Paris Haute Couture calendar since 1954, when Elsa Schiaparelli's business closed down.

El regreso de Schiaparelli es una realidad. Creativo, romántico, y, como no podía ser de otro modo, con un toque surrealista, el show de la maison ha sido uno de los desfiles más esperados de París. Y es que es la primera vez que Schiaparelli desfila en París de la mano de su nuevo director creativo, Marco Zanini, tras su marcha de la casa francesa Rochas. Desde 1954, año en el que cierra la empresa Elsa Schiaparelli, que la firma no desfilaba en el calendario de la Alta Costura de París. 

Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2014, Paris

The Atelier Versace collection opened the Haute Couture season in Paris. Inspired by Grace Jones, the clothes were draped, daring and with elegant volumes. Sexy gowns, sensual deep neck lines, silk jersey dresses with decorative Swarovsky crystals, transparent fabrics, body-con silhouettes, liberated draping and corset waists were part of an exquisite collection made for a powerful woman. 

La colección de Atelier Versace abrió ayer los desfiles de Alta Costura primavera/verano 2014 en París. Inspirada en Grace Jones, estuvo marcada por prendas de ropa drapeadas, atrevidas y con volúmenes muy elegantes. Vestidos sexys, escotes sensuales, trajes de seda con cristales Swarovsky, telas transparentes, siluetas body-con o ajustadas al cuerpo y corsés a la cintura, formaron una colección exquisita hecha para una mujer poderosa.

Fashion icon Kate Moss turns 40 today. We cannot deny that she is still the catwalk queen of the fashion world, because she has managed to maintain herself 25 years in the industry. The supermodel will celebrate her big day at Sir Richard Branson's private Caribbean island, Necker, in the British Virgin Islands. She will throw a Marie Antoinette birthday party theme and according to Daily Star, her husband, The Kills frontman Jamie Hince, will surprise her with an apartment in Paris. Remember that in April Kate will launch her new line with Topshop. Happy Birthday, Kate!

Year 2013 is now part from the past. I hope the new year is better than the last one. My wishes for 2014 may be overoptimistic, but I believe that they are possible. I wish for the end of cuts and raised taxes, for more reliable and prestigious politicians and employment for everyone. I wish more optimism, more (and better) education, more aids for everyone, more respect, more ecological consciousness, more ethics, less narcissism, more rigour, more happiness, more friendship, more jobs, and above everything, more (true) love, peace in the world and hope for the future. Warm new year's wishes for a glorious coming year! I hope you had a good year entrance... and a 2014 that brings with it harmony, health, joy, love and dreams.

DESEOS PARA 2014. El año 2013 ya forma parte de nuestro pasado. Este año nuevo espero que sea mejor que el anterior. Mis deseos para 2014 son quizá algo utópicos, pero tengo fe en que son posibles. Por pedir, deseo que se ponga fin a los recortes y a la subida de impuestos, que haya políticos más serios y prestigiosos y que haya trabajo para todos. Deseo más optimismo, más (y mejor) educación, más ayudas para todos, más respeto, más conciencia ecológica, más ética, menos narcisismo, más rigor, más alegría, más amistad, más empleo y sobre todo más amor (del verdadero), paz en el mundo y esperanza para el futuro. Espero que tuvierais una buena entrada de año... y un 2014 que lleve consigo armonía, salud, felicidad, amor y mucha ilusión.
