The e-commerce multibrand platform Moves To Slow Fashion –pioneer of the sale of sustainable fashion in Spain- is celebrating its first anniversary with the "EcoFashion Beauty Event", the first sustainable fashion and beauty pop-up store in Spain. The event will gather more than 50 fashion firms that advocate sustainability and also ecological and natural cosmetic firms. It will take place during May 7, 8 and 9 in Barcelona, at MUTUO Centro de Arte, at C/Julia Porter 5 –behind the Cathedral-. La plataforma e-commerce multimarca Moves To Slow Fashion –pionera en la venta de moda sostenible en España- celebra su primer aniversario con el "EcoFashion Beauty Event", la primera pop-up store de moda y belleza sostenible que se realiza en España. El evento reunirá a más de 50 firmas de moda que abogan por la sostenibilidad y también firmas cosméticas ecológicas y naturales. La cita tendrá lugar los días 7, 8 y 9 de mayo en Barcelona, en MUTUO Centro de Arte, en la C/Julia Portet 5 –detrás de la Catedral-. A sustainable fashion festival is launched in Barcelona this November. Bcn Ethical Fashion Fest will take place from Saturday 22 to Sunday 23 at the Centre Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona, and it will feature fashion shows, pop up stores, music and talks.

Fashion Revolution Day to Receive the Freedom 'Sustainability and Consciousness' Award

We are so happy to announce that Fashion Revolution Day has been awarded with a Freedom Barcelona Award, hosted by the non-profit association Synergies that promotes social and cultural projects and honours those who work in favour of solidarity, culture and freedom. The Association for Sustainable Fashion Barcelona will receive the prize in the category of 'Sustainability and Consciousness' at the Barcelona Freedom Awards gala as part of the Pride Barcelona 2014, on June 26, which will take place at Teatre Principal in Barcelona, Spain. 

Nos complace anunciar que la iniciativa Fashion Revolution Day ha sido premiada con un galardón de los Freedom Barcelona Awards, organizados por la asociación sin ánimo de lucro Synergies que promueve proyectos sociales y culturales y que recompensan el trabajo en favor de la solidaridad, cultura y libertad. La Associació Moda Sostenible de Barcelona recibirá el premio a la 'Sostenibilidad y Conciencia' en la gala de los Barcelona Freedom Awards, en el Pride Barcelona 2014, el 26 de junio, en el Teatre Principal de Barcelona. 

The first Sustainable Fashion show in Barcelona: Fashion Revolution Day

The city of Barcelona (Spain) presented last Thursday the first Sustainable Fashion show to celebrate there is another way of producing clothing. More than 40 firms hit the catwalk and more than 2.000 people attended the event, which took place at the gardens of Palau Robert. It was held because of Fashion Revolution Day, a global movement that commemorates the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh, where 1133 workers died and over 2500 were injured when the factory complex collapsed. They were producing clothes for big popular brands. In that context, Barcelona said "enough is enough".

Barcelona acogió este jueves la primera pasarela de moda sostenible para reivindicar que una manera diferente de producir y consumir ropa es posible. Más de 40 marcas desfilaron y cerca de 2.000 personas acudieron a la cita, que tuvo lugar en los jardines del Palau Robert. El evento se celebró con motivo del Fashion Revolution Day, un movimiento global que conmemora la tragedia del hundimiento del edificio textil Rana Plaza hace un año en Bangladesh, dónde perdieron la vida más de mil personas y más de dos mil resultaron heridas. Todos ellas trabajaban para producir ropa para grandes marcas que todos conocemos. En este contexto, Barcelona dijo ¡basta ya!

Save the date! Fashion Revolution Day

Next April 24 2014 a brand new initiative will take place around the world: Fashion Revolution Day, coinciding with the first anniversary of the factory complex Rana Plaza disaster in Dhaka (Bangladesh), where 1133 people were killed when the building collapsed. The global campaign's aim is to turn "fashion into a force for good." In Barcelona (Spain) a fashion show based on ethics and sustainability will be held at Palau Robert (at 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm). 

El próximo 24 de abril tendrá lugar la iniciativa global Fashion Revolution Day, coincidiendo con el primer aniversario del desastre de la fábrica textil Rana Plaza en Dhaka (Bangladesh), donde 1133 personas murieron por causa del derrumbe del edificio. El objetivo de la campaña es transformar la moda en una fuerza positiva. Barcelona acogerá un desfile de moda sostenible en el Palau Robert (habrás tres pases: a las 17 h, las 18 h y las 19 h).
