Bouquets of rose, petals cut out by hand, gold sequins and ribbons... Dior unveiled the itinerant exhibition Le Petit Théâtre Dior in Chendgu, China, at the beginning of this month to pay homage to Le Théatre de la Mode (1945), the display of fashion dolls that made possible to keep couture alive after World War II. Now the fashion house has released two beautiful short videos that invite us to discover the story behind the making of the miniature version of "Miss Dior" dress designed in 1949 and of "Mexique" mini couture dress from fall-winter 1951-1952 -both mini gowns shown in the exhibit. 'DIOR IN MINIATURE', LA MAGIA DEL PROCESO DE CONFECCIÓN DE UN MINIVESTIDO DE ALTA COSTURA. Buqués de rosas, pétalos cortados a mano, lentejuelas en dorado y lazos... Dior presentó la exposición itinerante Le Petit Théâtre Dior en Chendgú, China, a principios de mes para rendir homenaje al Teatro de la moda (1945), la muestra que salvó la costura después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Twelve installations retrace the history of the French house and show miniature versions of the Bar suit, the dresses Schuman, Muguet, Miss Dior among other creations. Perfectly and minutely sewn, they resemble the originals down to the tiniest detail.
Origins of the project
Le Théâtre de la Mode brought together in miniature form the creations by the greatest couturiers from the period. The exhibition took place in the Louvre Museum, in Paris, March 1945, and was seen as an air of hope for couture after World War II.
Sobre la exposición
Doce instalaciones trazan la historia de la casa francesa y presentan versiones miniatura de la silueta bar, los vestidos Schuman, Muguet, Miss Dior y muchos más. Cosidos de forma minuciosa y perfecta, se parecen a los modelos originales hasta el más mínimo detalle.
Orígenes del proyecto
El teatro de la moda juntó las creaciones en miniatura de los grandes diseñadores del momento. La muestra tuvo lugar en el museo Louvre, en París, marzo 1945 y supuso un halo de esperanza para el lujo parisino tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
