Under the moonlight, Rihanna captivates the majestic Château de Versailles and its wide gardens in the new Dior video for its campaign Secret Garden, an annual saga of films by the maison. The video, filmed by fashion photographer Steven Klein, achieves a magic, sensual and glamorous result. The top moment of the video is when the pop singer appears dressed in a silver sequined Dior dress, carrying the Diorama bag and dancing in the spectacular Hall of Mirrors, which is covered by the darkness of the night. The making of a Dior couture gown

IMPECCABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP. American website Refinery 29 partnered with the fashion publisher Visionaire to "get closer to couture —and to get you closer to couture-". To do so, they created an amazing video, which follows the journey of one Dior couture dress ("Look #53") from its creation to the runway. In the film, we can see the artisans and seamstresses meticulously working and we can watch how the accordion pleats of the skirt of the dress are made. This is a must-see! Designer Raf Simons explored this Monday the past and the near future in his Christian Dior's couture show. Mr. Simons took inspiration from the 18th century French court onwards to create an extremely modern look. From elegant silhouettes and pannier dresses to flight suits, the collection was a fusion of several epochs. Long line coats with an Edwardian origin, bodices that become skirts, flapper lines of the twenties and astronaut jumpsuits were also shown while playing Sonic Youth's music. The show, divided into eight different themed sections, took place in a circular futuristic white building behind the Rodin Museum with walls covered in 150,000 real white orchids. Dior always dreams big.

El diseñador Raf Simons ha explorado este lunes el pasado y el futuro cercano en su desfile de alta costura para Christian Dior. Simons se ha inspirado en la corte francesa del siglo XVIII hasta la actualidad para crear un look extremadamente moderno. Presentó siluetas elegantes, vestidos volante con panier, trajes de vuelo, abrigos largos con reminiscencias de la época eduardiana, corpiños que se convierten en faldas, líneas flapper de los años veinte y monos astronauta, que desfilaron al sonido de Sonic Youth. El show, dividido en ocho secciones de temáticas distintas, tuvo lugar en un edificio blanco circular de aspecto futurista ubicado detrás del Museo Rodin. 150.000 orquídeas blancas decoraron las paredes de la pasarela. Dior siempre sueña a lo grande.

'Dior in miniature', the magic of making a mini couture dress

Bouquets of rose, petals cut out by hand, gold sequins and ribbons... Dior unveiled the itinerant exhibition Le Petit Théâtre Dior in Chendgu, China, at the beginning of this month to pay homage to Le Théatre de la Mode (1945), the display of fashion dolls that made possible to keep couture alive after World War II. Now the fashion house has released two beautiful short videos that invite us to discover the story behind the making of the miniature version of "Miss Dior" dress designed in 1949 and of "Mexique" mini couture dress from fall-winter 1951-1952 -both mini gowns shown in the exhibit. At the beginning of this week during the celebration of the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Chanel and Dior included trainers on their fashion shows. The need of a renovation of the first division of fashion and of making it closer to us led both designer labels to surprise us and disconcert everyone. Tennis shoes in Haute Couture? Strange as it made sound, it makes sense.

¿ZAPATILLAS EN LA ALTA COSTURA? A principios de semana durante la celebración de la Semana de la Alta Costura en París Chanel y Dior incluyeron zapatillas deportivas en sus desfiles. La necesidad de renovación de la primera división de la moda y de hacerla más cercana ha llevado a ambas firmas a sorprender y desconcertar a todos. ¿Zapatillas de jugar al tenis en la Alta Costura? Por extraño que nos parezca, tiene mucho sentido.

This afternoon in Paris, Raf Simons presented, in his second year at Dior as the creative director, the Christian Dior spring/summer 2014 collection. Femininity, softness, youth, light, dresses with holes and trainers -yes, believe it, trainers- on the catwalk.
