Karl Lagerfeld presented last Tuesday an autumn/winter 2014-15 Haute Couture collection for Chanel that combined refinement, baroque style and modernity. Elaborated pieces from the
Maison entered a scene inspired by a Thirties apartment by the architect Le Corbusier inside the Grand Palais, the firm's usual setting. The designer played once more with Chanel's tweed suits and gave us again an excellent lesson on fashion.

irrumpieron en un decorado inspirado en un apartamento del arquitecto Le Corbusier de los años 30 recreado en el Grand Palais, espacio habitual de los desfiles de la firma. El diseñador jugó una vez más con el traje de tweed
de Chanel y volvió a darnos una lección magistral de moda.

Bermuda shorts under the skirts, cross-body bags,
punk hair, flat sandals flip-flops type tied with a big bow and over-the-knee boots are the modern accents of the collection. The visor caps could be an update version of the headdresses that women used to wear to cover their hair during the 18th century during the epoch of Louis XV.
Bermudas bajo las faldas, bolsos en bandolera, peinados punk, sandalias planas tipo chanclas atadas al tobillo con un enorme lazo y botas que suben por encima de la rodilla conforman los acentos modernos de la colección. Las gorras con visera podrían ser la versión actualizada de los tocados que las mujeres utilizaban para cubrir su cabello en el siglo XVIII durante la época de Luis XV.

The decorative details of the dresses also take us to the past. For example, the floral motifs of the fabrics, the bows and the wedding dress at the end as well, which reminds us of the dresses with the waist under the breast that women wore at the end of the 18th century.

The pure lines of the dresses and the simplicity of the space respond to the influence of Le Corbusier, a dominant figure of the Modern movement. The colour palette of the couture show alternates white and black with gold and silver hues, red and blue.

Maison, Mr. Lagerfeld creates tops embroidered with pearls, constructs jackets without any side seams and works with neoprene and silk. The designer gives shape to a youthful collection that shines thanks to the wonderful and valuable work of its artisans.

The finale look of the couture show was a wedding dress worn by a seventh-months-pregnant model bride. In an obvious nod to today's world and our current times.
