Barcelona is launching a sustainable fashion festival

A sustainable fashion festival is launched in Barcelona this November. Bcn Ethical Fashion Fest will take place from Saturday 22 to Sunday 23 at the Centre Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona, and it will feature fashion shows, pop up stores, music and talks. 

BARCELONA LANZA UN FESTIVAL DE MODA SOSTENIBLE. Nace el primer festival de moda sostenible de Barcelona este noviembre. El Bcn Ethical Fashion Fest se celebrará el sábado 22 y el domingo 23 en el Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona, y presentará desfiles, pop up stores o tiendas efímeras, música y charlas. 



Bcn Ethical Fashion Fest is a brand new sustainable fashion festival, organized by the Association for Sustainable Fashion Barcelona, presenting a wide range of fashion designers and brands. The two-day festival, which is supported by Organic Cotton Colours and also Skunkfunk, and with the collaboration of Centre Arts Santa Mònica, will bring together local designers, brands, stores and multibrand websites that will show their sustainable creations on the catwalk. 

Bcn Ethical Fashion Fest es un nuevo festival de moda sostenible, organizado por la Asociación de Moda Sostenible Barcelona, que presentará un amplio abanico de diseñadores y marcas de moda. El festival de dos días, patrocinado por Organic Cotton Colours y también Skunkfunk y con la colaboración del Arts Santa Mònica, reunirá a diseñadores, marcas, tiendas y plataformas online locales, que mostrarán sus creaciones sostenibles sobre la pasarela.

Fashions shows will take place on Saturday. At the first one (5:30 pm), we will see clothes from different brands from multibrand stores and online e-commerce platforms. At the second one (6:30 pm), we will see the clothes of local and national designers. In-between, flamenco singer Carmen Doora will perform. On Sunday, the author Elena Salcedo will present her book Moda ética para un futuro sostenible (meaning: Ethical fashion for a sustainable future) and there will be different exciting talks. On both days there will be pop up stores. 

Los desfiles tendrán lugar el sábado. En el primero (17:30 h), desfilarán las tiendas multimarca y las plataformas online e-commerce. En el segundo (18:30 h), veremos las propuestas de los diseñadores locales y nacionales. Y entre uno y otro, actuará la artista flamenca Carmen Doorá. El domingo, la autora Elena Salcedo presentará su libro Moda ética para un futuro sostenible y tendrán lugar distintas charlas interesantes. Ambos días estarán las pop up stores o tiendas efímeras de los diseñadores.

The majority of the brands participating in the festival already joined the first sustainable fashion show celebrated in Barcelona on the 24th April 2014 because of the global movement Fashion Revolution Day. It was the first event organized by the Association for Sustainable Fashion Barcelona.

La mayoría de marcas que estarán en el festival ya participaron en la primera pasarela sostenible de Barcelona el 24 de abril de 2014 con motivo del movimiento global Fashion Revolution Day. Fue el primer evento organizado por la Asociación de Moda Sostenible Barcelona.

All participants are part of the slow fashion movement. The festival features the following brands: Annatrash, Virginia Rondeel, Miu Sutin, Aiby CraftDaniela Barbieri, Carmela Rodriguez, RebelRoot, Del Través, IBID, Möethika, Sylvia Calvo BCN, Lifegist, Ecoology, Mimètik Bcn, Pure Green Apparel, Bicho Bichejo, Organic Cotton Colours, Skunkfunk, Umutka and the brands for children AB·Origenes, Perfect Days, Kupukupukids, Binta and Bastida. The fashion accessory brands are: Modestany, Rebelroot, IBID, Rosa López Creacions, Cornblume, Maureen Clarke Batik’s Secrets, Patricia Pla. And the stores and online platforms: Moves To Slow Fashion, Green Life Style and Humus.
