The Fashion Journalist: Liebster Award

The Liebster Award is given to new bloggers from other bloggers who have already received a nomination. Nominees have to write a post answering 11 questions asked by the nominating blog and then they have to choose from 5 to 11 bloggers with whom to share the Liebster award.

I will answer Desirée's questions in English and Sònia and Mar's in Spanish.

1. Why did you choose to create your blog?

After studying Journalism and doing the Master of Vogue Spain in Fashion and Beauty Communication, I wanted to share my vision of the fashion world and dedicate a place to those beautiful things I like and inspire me and that allow us to find the romantic and nice part of the world.

2. How did you come up with the name of your blog?

Since I was at school I wanted to be a Journalist specialized in fashion so the name came up in a natural way. The Fashion Journalist felt it was the right name and when I finished my career and specialization it felt right and made sense.

3. How have you created (or continue to create) a buzz about your blog?

Writing an article with a firming opinion such as Elsa Pataky's dress at the Oscars, sharing the posts on social media and being involved with the Association of Sustainable Fashion of Barcelona also creates a buzz about The Fashion Journalist blog.

4. What are your goals for the blog?

My immediate yearly goal is writing more posts per week.

5. From where does the inspiration for your blog posts come?

From my day-to-day life –a situation, a trip, a conversation- or from reading newspapers, blogs, books...

6. What's your number 1 tip for new bloggers?

Authenticity, constancy and creating a lot of content.

7. What are your 3 favorite blogs?

The Business of Fashion. It started as a blog an now is an authority in the industry. It offers the latest news and analyzes the business of fashion. It's a must-visit and a daily must-read.
On The Runway of The New York Times. I read almost all the articles written by Vanessa Friedman, because she's a powerful voice in the industry. The fashion shows reviews and articles about fashion that she writes are a must-read and an example to follow.
This Is Glamorous, because Roséline Lohr's blog is pure love.

8. Who do you most admire and why?

I admire those people who face the challenges of life with a smile, discipline, strength and courage. I admire those who live life with values and ethics. I admire those who live and let live.

9. What is your favorite quote?

Lindt chocolate I think! :) Right now in my closet: Ralph Lauren, Maje, Morgan, Vero Moda and clothes from local and sustainable shops.

11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself having a full-time job and living with my boyfriend.

Los premios Liebster son otorgados a bloggers que llevan poco tiempo en la blogosfera por otros blogueros que han sido nominados anteriormente. Los nominados tienen que escribir un post respondiendo a 11 preguntas realizadas por el blog que ha hecho la nominación y, después, hay que escoger a 5-11 bloggers para difundir el premio.

1. ¿Por qué decidiste empezar tu blog?

Después de estudiar Periodismo y hacer el Máster de Vogue en Comunicación de Moda y Belleza, quería compartir mi visión de la moda en un espacio y dedicar un lugar a esas cosas bonitas que me gustan y me inspiran, aquellas que nos permiten encontrar la parte romántica y amable del mundo.

2. ¿A qué audiencia te diriges?

Me dirijo a todo el mundo. Pero sobre todo a aquellas personas que les gusta el mundo de la moda. Es un blog dedicado a los soñadores y amantes de la moda.

3. ¿Con qué frecuencia publicas? ¿Cómo te organizas para preparar tus entradas?

Intento publicar una entrada como mínimo cada semana, aunque me gustaría publicar una cada día. Para organizarme anoto en una libreta los posts pendientes por hacer, ideas y temas.

4. ¿Cuáles son tus blogs favoritos? ¿Por qué?

Algunos de mis blogs favoritos son:

The Business of Fashion. Empezó como un blog y ahora es una autoridad de la industria. Ofrece la última hora del mundo de la moda y lo analiza. Es de visita y lectura obligatoria diaria.
On The Runway de The New York Times. Leo casi todas las entradas de Vanessa Friedman, porque es una voz poderosa dentro del sector. Las críticas de los desfiles y los artículos sobre noticias de moda que escribe son imprescindibles. Es un must-read y un ejemplo a seguir.
Fashion Copious. Está al día siempre de todo lo que pasa en el planeta fashion. Reúne noticias, editoriales, portadas... Es muy visual.
This Is Glamorous, porque el blog de Roséline Lohr es puro amor.

5. ¿Cuáles son tus objetivos para el próximo año?

En cuánto al blog, publicar con más frecuencia sería mi objetivo principal. Y, ¿más retos? Darme más a conocer, potenciar las redes sociales, ganar más tráfico y, en definitiva, crecer.

6. ¿Has hecho algún curso relacionado con el blog o tienes alguno en mente? ¿Cuál?

Sí. Hice un curso de verano sobre Blogs de moda y Coolhunting 2.0 en el IDEP de Barcelona con Francesca Tur de Tendencias TV como profesora y, en el que contamos también con los consejos y experiencia de Mercedes Quevedo del blog El Fashionista. He hecho varios cursos sobre moda y siempre tengo algunos pendientes en mente, ya sean de moda u otro tema que pueda interesarme. Suelo recibir notificaciones de Coursera con sugerencias.

7. ¿Algún truco bloguero que quieras compartir?

Autenticidad, constancia y crear mucho contenido.

8. ¿Qué es lo mejor y lo peor de ser bloguer?
Lo mejor es que es una puerta abierta al mundo, un espacio para escribir con libertad y con el que se llega a un público global. Lo peor es que requiere mucha dedicación, mucho tiempo.

9. ¿Quieres sacar rendimiento económico del blog? ¿Cómo?

Por supuesto que me gustaría, aunque no me lo he planteado en serio. Sería cuestión de valorarlo.

10. ¿Me propones algo para mejorar soGOODsoCUTE?

Sinceramente ahora mismo no se me ocurre nada que puedas mejorar.
