The Fashion Journalist: Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2014, Paris

The Atelier Versace collection opened the Haute Couture season in Paris. Inspired by Grace Jones, the clothes were draped, daring and with elegant volumes. Sexy gowns, sensual deep neck lines, silk jersey dresses with decorative Swarovsky crystals, transparent fabrics, body-con silhouettes, liberated draping and corset waists were part of an exquisite collection made for a powerful woman.

La colección de Atelier Versace abrió ayer los desfiles de Alta Costura primavera/verano 2014 en París. Inspirada en Grace Jones, estuvo marcada por prendas de ropa drapeadas, atrevidas y con volúmenes muy elegantes. Vestidos sexys, escotes sensuales, trajes de seda con cristales Swarovsky, telas transparentes, siluetas body-con o ajustadas al cuerpo y corsés a la cintura, formaron una colección exquisita hecha para una mujer poderosa.

The fashion highlights of the show include the Grace Jones hoods that took us back to the 1980s (see the image on the right) and the graphic and geometrical embellishments in the dresses that looked like skin tattoos.

Next to Mario Testino, a stunning Lady Gaga, who is the label's image, sat front row wearing a sparkly black hood and showing her blonde hair looking like Donatella Versace (see the image below). The artist put the soundtrack of the show with the theme "Donatella", dedicated to the designer.

Donatella Versace, following her brother steps, Gianni Versace (1947-1997), gave a powerful glamour catwalk show. It was a collection full of allure that gathered up the power of the contemporary goddess. (See the full collection here).

Lo más destacado del show son las capuchas al estilo Grace Jones que nos transportan a los años 80 (véase la imagen situada al lado del texto en inglés) y los adornos geométricos de los vestidos que parecen tatuajes en el cuerpo.

Al lado de Mario Testino, una impresionante Lady Gaga, imagen de la firma, se sentó en el front row del desfile con la cabeza tapada en una capucha negra dejando ver su melena rubia pareciéndose a Donatella Versace. La artista puso la banda sonora al show con un tema llamado "Donatella", dedicado a la diseñadora.

Donatella Versace, siguiendo los pasos de su hermano, Gianni Versace (1947-1997), ofreció un desfile cargado de glamour. Fue un show lleno de seducción que recogió el poder de la diosa contemporánea. (Podéis ver la colección completa aquí).
